Khidotani Ridge

Khidotani Ridge is a challenging section of the Shatili to Omalo trek. The steep forested path between the Khonistskali River and Khidotani border guards’ camp is difficult to navigate, especially in wet conditions, where parts of the trail have eroded. Ascending this section is generally easier than descending due to the steep, slippery terrain. This part of the hike is remote, with no villages between Girevi and Khonischala, only shepherd and border guard camps.
